Belfast: 11/12 lipca 2006 
Bitwa nad rzeką Boyne 1690 roku przesądziła o szansach katolickiej Irlandii na odzyskanie tronu. Wojska protestanckiego króla WILHELMA III ORAŃSKIEGO odniosły druzgoczące zwycięstwo. Irlandia Północna co roku 12 lipca na pamiątkę świętuje to wydarzenie organizując parady nazywane "marszami oranżystów". Najhuczniej obchodzone są oczywiście w Belfaście. 
W nocy z 11 na 12 lipca w protestanckich dzielnicach buduje się ogromne paro- jak i paronasto metrowe stosy z drewnianych palet i opon. Na szczycie ich zatykane są flagi Republiki Irlandzkiej. O godz. 0.00 stosy te podpalane są przy wtórze wiwatów. Zdjęcia Wykonałam w 2006 roku w Belfaście w dzielnicy Shankill. Obeszło się bez nieprzyjemnych incydentów, jednakże trzeba pamiętać że wcale nie tak dawno przy obchodzeniu tej rocznicy wybuchały bomby i ginęli ludzie ...

The Battle of the Boyne 1690 years determined the chances of Catholic Ireland to regain the throne. Army of Protestant King William of Orange accomplished a great victory. Northern Ireland every year on July 12 celebrates this event by organizing a parades called "Orange walks". The biggest is in Belfast. At Night of 11th of July in Protestant neighborhoods are built high piles of wooden pallets and tires. At the top of it you can find the flag of Republic of Ireland. At Midnight these stacks are lighted to the accompaniment of cheers. The photos were taken in 2006 in Belfast, Shankill area.

70 lat temu 27 stycznia 1945 roku Niemiecki nazistowski obóz koncentracyjny i zagłady Auschwitz-Birkenau { Konzentrationslager Auschwitz, KL Auschwitz (Stammlager), w tym KL Birkenau (Auschwitz II) i KL Monowitz (Auschwitz III) } został wyzwolony.

Straciło tu życie około 1,1 miliona kobiet, mężczyzn i dzieci. 

Zdjęcia poniżej pochodzą z kwietnia 2005. Wykonałam je analogowym aparatem Practica BX20 i obiektywem Pentacon 28mm. Negatyw zeskanowany i poddany cyfrowej konwersji do czerni-bieli.

70 years ago - January 27, 1945 - German Nazi concentration camps and extermination camps  Auschwitz-Birkenau { Auschwitz I,Auschwitz II–Birkenau, Auschwitz III–Monowitz } was liberated

Over 1.1 million men, women and children lost their lives there.

I took this pictures in  April 2005.
I was using Practica BX20 (analogue) and  Pentacon 28mm. lens. Negative was scanned and was digitally converted to black & white.

Jesień to chyba moja ulubiona pora roku, nawet wtedy gdy pada ;) Te kolory... owoce..orzechy.. plony... i światło o najpiękniejszym odcieniu.
Jesień to Dynie !  Od żółtych po pomańczowe, od krąglutkich jak piłka, do fikuśnych i pełnych zgrubień. A z Dyni to zupa i dżem i ciasto być może :) Ale nie będzie kulinarnie, będzie trochę tajemniczo...
Dorodna, kształtna, pomarańczowa Dynia chowa się w ciemnozielonym bluszczu otulona suchymi jesiennymi liśćmi...

I think Autumn/Fall is my favorite season, even when it rains ;)
These colors ... fruits .. nuts .. harvest ... and the light in the most beautiful shade.
Autumn means Pumpkins ! All kinds, yellow, orange, green, round, spotted. Love all of them. You can make soup, jam, pie... but it will not be a culinary post ... it will be a bit mysterious post...with a  pumpkin hidden in dark green ivy wrapped in autumn leaves.

Spui !

To miejsce, które zna każdy bibliofil w Amsterdamie. Przyznam, że nie wiedziałam, że trzeba tam być w piątek.

Czemu? Bo w piątki ten malutki plac w sercu Amsterdamu otoczony białymi kamieniczkami wypełniają swoimi zbiorami Antykwariusze z całej Holandii, Ba! Nie tylko z Holandii. Ponad 20 stoisk oferuje książki również po francusku, angielsku, niemiecku itp. Pod jasnymi zadaszeniami można znaleźć rzadkie okazy, stare wydania, mapy, grafiki, partytury, stare pocztówki i inne ciekawe przedmioty. Plac Spui ma wspaniały klimat. Właściwie odcięty od ruchu samochodowego jest idealnym miejscem wtapiania się w zapisane na kartach słowa....

It's a place known to bibliophiles in Amsterdam. 

I admit, that I did not know, that you have to be there on Friday. Why? 

Because on Fridays this tiny square in the heart of Amsterdam, surrounded by white tenements is filled by the collections of antiquarians from all over the Netherlands, and even abroad. Over 20 stalls offering books in Dutch of course but also in French, English, German, etc. Under the bright roofs you can find collections of old, rare, second-hand and out-of-print books, music sheets, old postcards and other interesting items.
Spui Square has a wonderful atmosphere, actually cut off from the car traffic is an ideal place to absorb words written on the pages ....

Koningsdag - Amsterdam

Holandia !

Tulipany, wiatraki, rowery, mistrzowie malarstwa, sery i monarchia. To są moje pierwsze skojarzenia gdy pomyślę Holandia. W tym roku Królestwo Niderlandów obchodziło pierwszy raz Dzień Króla - Koningsdag, wcześniej świetowano Dzień Królowej :) Od zeszłego roku monarchą panującym jest Wilhelm Aleksander, tak jak jego przodkowie nalezy on do dynastii Orańskiej-Nassau (hol. Oranje-Nassau, ang. i fr. Orange-Nassau). Oranje - Orange - Pomarańczowy :) 

Wiecie już dlaczego na ulicach króluje ten kolor :) W Dniu Króla, który jest de facto świętowaniem urodzin Króla (27 kwietnia), nie potrzebne jest zezwlenie na handel, nikt też nie pobiera podatków z tego tutułu. Cały Amsterdam, który jest centrum wydarzeń tego dnia, zmienia się w jeden wielki jarmark i festiwal muzyki.

The Netherlands!

Tulips, windmills, bicycles, masters of painting, cheese and monarchy. These are my first associations when I think of the Netherlands. 

This year, the Kingdom of the Netherlands was celebrating the King's Day-Koningsdag for the first time. It used to be the Queen's Day but since last year the reigning monarch is King William Alexander. Like his ancestors he belongs to the Dynasty of Orange-Nassau (Hol. Oranje-Nassau,  fr . Orange-Nassau). Oranje - Orange  

You already know why the streets are dominated by this color.  On the Kings Day, which is in fact a celebration of King's birthday (April 27), you can sell on the streets  play music and celebrate, especially in Amsterdam, which is the festive center of Netherlands!
